Rowenta RS-DC0008 Iron Water Tank Review

I had to purchase a replacement water tank for my Rowenda Steamer after I tried to pick-up the steamer by the convenient and over designed plastic handle on top of the tank and of course the plastic broke at the bottom of the tank.I know it was my fault for not knowing that the steamer is too heavy to be pick-up using this handle; however, Rowenta knew that the customer would at some time or another try and pick up the Steamer using this handle.This handle is so well made that it gives the false impression that it is there to assist one with lifting the steamer off the ground in order to move it over an obstacle.The killer is that the replacement tank cost $27 dollars plus $8 shipping. As far as the tank is concerned it is a beautifully molded tank in the tradition of great German engineering but unfortunately for the consumer cost one-fifth the price of the entire system.The Germans knew what they were doing when they designed the tank since they could have made the tank out of a non-breakable pliable plastic which probably would have added only another $5 to the total cost of the Steamer system!
